The Benefits for Neurodivergent Learners are Invaluable!
Drumming is a naturalistic, evidence-based, music-centered intervention that gives all learners -particularly NEURODIVERGENT THINKERS or high-functioning, nontraditional learners- behavioral alternatives meant to help children self-regulate in an effort to promote an improved sense of control, greater feelings of purpose, and enhanced autonomy, and authority.
DrumKids' basic drumming instruction and informal check-ins are all structured to provide children with options that they can utilize in order to reduce anxiety, rebalance their emotional elevation, or promote synchronicity when feeling overwhelmed or out-of-synch.

How do I schedule my drum session?
Upon purchasing your child's Individual or Group sessions, you will receive further instructions and next steps including how to book the date and time for your learner's upcoming drum session.

Can I purchase sessions more than once?
Absolutely! We hope your child enjoys drumming. We recommend registering for drum sessions on a regular basis. And repurchasing is easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Simply purchase the session again HERE. Lessons will be scaffolded for your learner so they learn something new with each session.
Where do I fill out my Enrollment INTAKE Form?
Prior to your child's upcoming drum session, please complete this short INTAKE FORM.
Which sticks should I buy? What drumsticks do you recommend?
While drumsticks are preferred, and will eventually need to be added to your supply list if your little learner finds themselves truly interested in the art of percussion, actual drumsticks are not necessary for their first lesson(s). Nor are drumsticks required if you believe they would pose a problem or be utilized in a non-constructive manner.
That being said, take a look at the DRUMKIDS SUPPLY LIST which includes everything from sticks to snares. Or find out the answers to questions such as: 'What do the numbers on my drumsticks mean"? in Dr. Sasha's blog post HERE.
How long is each drum session?
Classes are LIVE and 25 minutes each. Additional time is not added for late arrivals. Breaks may be incorporated for children who need sessions broken into sections. Full lessons will not extend beyond 25 minutes, breaks included.
Does my child need to show their faces on screen?
Learners must be available and shown LIVE, on-screen during the session. The camera should be placed so that each student's face (and hands in the case of drum sessions) are visible to the instructor.
